Wow- A Post Finally

Wow, I really haven't posted much over the last month. But that'll change starting today! I swear!! Here's some photos to show the little bit of stuff I've done in the last month or so.

I finished Nick's scarf. It's about 6' or so long. He loves it! Even wore it when we:

Saw the NEW Harry Potter Movie!!!!!!!!!!!! We saw it opening night. He preordered tickets online, it was a good thing to! When we got there for the 7:10 movie there was lines filling the lobby for later showings (like 8:10, 9:30! etc.) I had to race home from work and we drove straight there. We barely made it in time and got stuck with front row seats. My neck was killing me when we got out of there 3 hours later! We could have had seats about 3 rows back, but some ignorant &*%#(&%! had seats "reserved" with the classic coat method, and we didn't feel like starting a fight.

I also made myself a scarf. Using Katia brand Nepal. This scarf is about 5' or so long and only used one skein. Good thing to as it usually cost $15! I used my discount and such though.

I also have started doing cake decorating. I always loved seeing my Aunt bring out her stuff, and some of the stuff she made, or I saw in books I'd buy for her, so I bought a kit and am teaching myself how to decorate cakes. I like to think I'm starting out rather well. Here's my very very first decorated cake that I made for Nick. It could have looked better, but I didn't have the stuff on hand already to make icing from scratch, so I ended up using the canned stuff we originally bought to go with the cake before I started this. This is the top:

Here's the way I did the sides:

And that is pretty much it. I did buy alot of yarn recently, but it is already stashed away in my studio to help keep the house clean when I do the Thanksgiving thing. At work they took yarns that had the wrappers torn off, or were tangled, and straighted them and packaged them 3 to a bag for $5. I Bought 7 bags! I got several skiens of yarn I know is $15 a piece, some lion brand incredible ($8) some various ladder yarns ($6-8 a piece) and more! I'm thinking scarves for Christmas gifts (and myself! lol as it is already pretty chilly here some days)

I haven't really spun anything because I'm having trouble with my wheel. Maybe it is user difficulties, I dunno.

anyway that's it. I'm posting again! Have a great day!
